A better snake (?)

Looloopaa made a funny edit of a pokemon to make it look like it had a hand instead of its head... and that reminded me of my yet-to-be-drawn sand-snake for the pyramid. It was looking good (else it wouldn't be featured on the banner), but I'm struggling to be consistent with its design, especially when it's attacking and not just being intimidating. I picked up my boox and tried to sketch what a hand-snake would look like

(for reference, the original GBC interpretation of Slapras). And regarding whether that would be drawing inspiration too far, the artist said:
Hah, I'm not the first person to replace a head with a hand and I won't be the last. If it sounds fun I say you should go for it! -- looloopaa

There would be another benefit from having a s-hand-snake: in a world where the most common limb is a floating blob, it helps understanding where people crafting those giant stone smasher drew inspiration from.

Consider pixelstudy Nauris stone hand as an alternative...
